Introduction: Telemedicine is a new branch of e-health which uses telecommunications technologies for diagnosis, consultation, and therapy. In recognition of the increasing importance of this field, we developed a "Clinical Telemedicine / E-Health" course for medical students at the University of Zurich in autumn 2008. The course has been evaluated systematically to prove the relevance of the curriculum to students.Methods: The educational objective of the course was to teach the basics of professional Internet and telephone consultation and telemonitoring services.
